Trefriw, Snowdonia and North Wales
Trefriw Trefriw is a small village set on a wooded hillside on the Eastern Edge of Snowdonia national park, North Wales. Only 4 miles from the tourist town of Betws-y-Coed you are either close enough to the action, or far enough away, whichever you prefer.
Most importantly for our visitors you can enjoy what Snowdonia and North Wales has to offer right from the cottage, there's no need to even jump in your car. There are numerous gentle and strenuous walks starting from the village and you can even row/kayak on the local lake.
The village has a local shop, butchers and a choice of 4 pubs with local brews and tasty food.
Betws Y Coed Less than 5 miles from our cottage is the popular town of Betws Y Coed. Betws Y Coed is a local tourist centre (but keeps its charm) and offers much to see and do. Whether you wish to explore the gift shops, kit yourself out for a day in the mountains, rent a bike or relax and sip coffee then Betws Y Coed is the place to start.
Conwy & Llandudno If you're spending a week in our cottage we'd definitely recommend a trip to Conwy. Set on the North Wales coast with its magnificent castle overlooking the bay it is a spectacular sight. It has some lovely beaches and coastal walks. Llandudno is much more of a commercial town, but very pleasant, and a place to go if you wanted a larger supermarket or wanted to do some high street shopping.
Snowdonia Snowdonia national park is approximately 838 square miles of protected highlands in North Wales .
Snowdonia was the first of 3 designated national parks in North Wales , and one of 12 in the United Kingdom . Snowdonia and Wales' highest mountain is "Snowdon" at 1085m above sea level.
North Wales and further afield
North Wales has much much more to offer and there are many excellent places to visit.
